Most people get this idea that a governor is a physical part on a car, not-true. What you are referring to is your fuel management center that is programmed to shut the fuel off at a predetermined speed, usually about 97 MPH for chevrolet. The best and easiest way to bypass this in the computer is to buy a new chip(performance chip), or buy the reprogramming kits from someone like hypertech, probably abou t$150 for a chip and $500 for the reprogrammer

You will have to buy an aftermarket programming package that allows you to alter the top speed, rev limiter, and trans. shift points. You can alter any or all of these with these kits. You cannot take anything off of your car to do this as it exists inside the computer program. Good luck.

go to jones electronics (www.jetchips.com) and purchase your chip upgrade. they will send you a box and a form to fill out, be sure to note any performance upgrades and specify to remove the fuel cut off parameter. remove your pcm, put in box, mail to jetchips, 2-3 days later your custom programmed pcm returns, reinstall and go.
