Any suggestions as to how i'd go about cleaning my barrell BBQ Grill? the inside is cool but the outside is rusted (still very usable) but I'd still like to give it a new look.

Thanks

Clean off the excess rust then use a high temp appliance spray paint to renew your BBQ. Available at your local hardware store. Rustoleum even has a web page dedicated to your situation.

Don't work at it too hard. Build a fire in the BBQ and heat the grills good and hot to burn off any old grease. Let them cool and then scrub well with a steel wire brush to clean off any scale. Spray well with PAM cooking spray. Respray with PAM before every use. The grills are going to rust between uses anyway. Covering the BBQ will reduce it.

Clean the outside with a degreasing product. Common Dawn dish soap may work just fine. After rinsing and drying purchase BBQ/fireplace paint from Home Depot. It comes in an aerosal spray so it is easy to apply. Works great!

if this is all on the outside and not a cooking surface, just one that gets extremely hot, use stove black. after you finish cleaning it, let it dry, then apply. it's made for wood stoves to keep them black and free from rust. good luck, hope this helps.

After a good cleaning and rinse, let it dry and then pick a color of Rustoleum paint that you like and give it a couple of coats. It should last you another year.

Spray on Easy-Off, let it stand for ten minutes, rinse it off.
