It is from the Greek word γένεσις which means the Creation of the universe and the first book of the old Testament which refers to the Creation of the World by the God.

...Sounds like a name from the sixties. How about the name ...Creation!!......Yeah for a dude??? Genesis and Creation...Two wild and crazy guys!!!!!

Depends if you mean as a persons name then no.

If you mean a diabolical plan to take over the world then yes. Its a wonderful name.
