If one backs the question up so that it is a clear simple question of "Which came first- the chicken or the egg?" one has a simple and clear answer.
The egg came first.
At some point something that was not a "chicken" laid an egg that had a chicken in it.
This is based on evolution.
When one brings in the supernatural, and religious beliefs that defy laws of nature, one can get all sorts of answers that are not based in fact or in science but based on various mythologies, and religious systems, and so open the doors to all sorts of imaginings not based in natural laws, or science and therefore not supportable. So, to get a clear supportable answer it is beneficial to eliminate the addition of these additional qualifications to the question.
The simpler question can receive the clearer answer.

there is a bird that looks like a chicken exept 4 1 minor difference. its baby comes in an egg and the baby through evolution is a chicken! therefore the chicken egg came before the chicken

I was thinking about asking this question too .
If you think about it the earth was water first so keep in mind that chickens can't swim.
Now the reason I mention this is because there was fish and they laid Eggs so I would have to say that the egg came first.
But then it's been quoted that there is such a thing as the chicken of the sea.But as far as that time gos...names weren't thought of for animals yet cause we didn't exist. So I would still have to go with the Egg.Even though we didn't have a name for Eggs then ,it still was an Egg.
The End.
Or should I say The beginning.

easy. the question doesn't define if the egg was a chicken's egg, and everyone knows that creatures were laying eggs far before the chicken came into existence. if it is a chicken's egg, though, it is still probably the egg, as it's parents would have been close to, but not actually chickens, and their DNA mixed together would then end up with the chicken that is a chicken... if you get what i mean.

Lets ignore the creation debate for a moment, and consider simply the feasibility of both sides of the question:
Had the egg come first, there would have been nothing there to sit on it and keep it warm. Therefore, the chicken must have come first.
Regardless, there were two of them, or else there would have never been an egg. Furthermore, there had to have been many chickens and rooster, or else they would have been inbred- and would have gone extinct. I guess that throws Noah's Ark out the window.

Good one, but the answers are all wrong! You see, the cave man had some bacon and eggs for breakfast, and set an extra one a bit too close to the fire and forgot about it. When he came back from hunting mastodons, he found the broken shells and blamed his mate. So he bopped her with his club for stealing his last egg. Later on, this strange bird came prancing around flapping its wings but not really flying. When he approached it, of course it ran away, so he called it chicken, and the name stuck. So obviously, the egg came first.

Eggs need warmth, care, and protection from predators. So no doubt it was the chicken first. Just like it was man and woman first, not new born baby.
