Q1. Try an example: 1 x 3 / .5 = 6. Therefore it is the same as multiplying by 6.

Q2. h = square root ( 10^2 + 24^2 )
= square root of ( 100 + 576 )
= square root of 676
= 26

Q3. 62 + 8(n - 5) = 166
8(n - 5) = 104
n - 5 = 13
n = 18

Check answer: 62 + 8 x (18 - 5) = 166. QED

1) 3/2 = 1.5

2) h = √(10² + 24²) = √(100 + 576) = √676 = 26

4) Let x = number of letters
.08(x - 5) + .62 = 1.66
.08x - .40 + .62 + 1.66
.08x = 1.44
x = 1.44/.08 = 18 letters
