I accidentally pressed a button and my screen turned veritcal instead of the usual horizontal. Does anybody know how to fix this. I could use ASAP. Thanks

It has nothing to do with his monitor, its his graphics adapter. Mine can do the exact same thing. Try right-click on your desktop, click properties. Then go to the settings tab and click "Advanced" see what you find there, if it is a ATI/nVidia graphics card the display rotation settings should be there, as well as a way to disable the hotkeys.

If you are using an nVidia or ATI graphics card, then your problem is a quick one. A lot of those video cards have an option in the control panel to flip the screen 90, 180 or 270 degrees. Usually there is a keyboard button combination to activate the same features. If you can tell me the manufacturer and model of video card, I can tell you the combination to fix it.

If you are using the card that came with your computer, just tell me the manufacturer and model of the computer, and I can find out the needed information that way.

That's ridiculous.
There are no buttons for that, unless, what kind of monitor do you have?
check the manual.
