It is not one's belief.
It is a scientific fact.
"Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed. It can only be transformed from one to the other" - Newton's law.
A belief is something blind. It has no basis. It has not be been proven. You just accept without question. Like, fo example, so many mythological stories.
A scientific fact goes through enormous debate, experiments, confirmed and reconfirmed, proven beyond any shadow of doubt that it is indeed a fact. And, it is used in everyday life without question.
Therefore, Newton's law falls in that category of fact. Not a belief.

In the scientific world, believing is nothing. One cannot prove or discard the phenomenons just on the basis of his beliefs. Energy conservation law is quite a interesting case. It is one of the very few laws of the scientific world whose validity is never verified, neither the reason for such happening is given ever explicitly ! but still it is worshiped as a well established fact among people.
But it is not because that they like this fact personally very much. It is bcos if this fact is not yet verified then It is not proved to be wrong either. And in whole history there is not a single example where this postulation ( law ) is violated.Whenever we deal with any sort of energy changes then we calculate the energy change any way, we can never find a single example where this principle fails to hold.
in fact a company recently claimed to make a machine which violates this age old principle but his claims r yet to be verified (see notes n 'sources' below). But till then I can safely put my full faith in this principle bcos until it is not disapproved or verified either it is no harm to rely on all those age old experiments which always indicated that it exists, even if at the level of our observation.

We make the energy.. but for making any energy there is another energy behind it..
same to destroy the energy there will be another energy to destroy it
