This is a great question. I believe that we are in a day and age where everyone is judged by their career. We are in a time where your social status often times out way your integrity and values; that is a shame I might add. I have noticed this most of my life because I have always been active in politics and have been in the US Army over 5.5 years now. I see often times back in the community how I’m treated better than others and am giving more merit to my opinion due to these things.
Though it is not far, this has always been a part of society and I don’t see it changing for the better anytime soon!!!

Only a shallow person would judge anyone by their careers. I take a person for who the are and what I know about them.

Well, here in the US, what are the usual 1st two questions when you meet someone:
1) What is your name?
2) What do you do?
And yes, money talks. How much you make is a good foundational question to your lifestyle/potential.
If I told you I delivered pizzas, was a doctor, or even worse...was a high school teacher, it would begin to tell you what I can and can't afford, what my educational level likely is, and perhaps, what are my interests.
This is a social condition you'll just have to learn to live with.

It is not right to judge people like that but you should understand that it's human nature to judge the outer appearance rather than looking into what's inside them...just make sure you are not like that, good luck!

It demonstrates one's willingness, ability, and often their mental aptitude to perform well at a certain level or degree of expertise that others may not be capable of performing.
