Wet sand..what IS that instrument?

In the 13th song called Wet Sand on the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album Stadium Arcadium,there is an instrument that starts playing right before the guitar solo towards the end of the song. What is it?

It is a nice twinkle sound huh? I have been wondering too, havent got the answer though sorry.... But i have to say one of my fave songs, my fave band, and my fave person sings it!! ANTHONY!! To me at first a keyboard or a xylophone like instrument..... love to help!!
