Lebron James. No doubt. He is like a Kobe and a Steve Nash put together. He knows how to score, and he also knows how to pass very well.

Right now, Kobe Bryant. He can hit the outside shot, play defense, and is a clutch player. There is nobody else in the NBA that can do what Bryant can. The only people I see who come close to him are LeBron James, Tim Duncan, and Steve Nash. However, James' defense or clutch ability have yet to reach the level of Bryant. Also, his outside shot can really let him down at times. Duncan is probably the second best but he cant hit a 3 pointer or pass well. As for Nash, he plays no defense whatsoever. Until the latter three can fix these problems, Kobe wil keep being the best. This might sound bias as I am a Laker fan, but c'mon, even you Kobe/Laker-haters have to admit nobody else can play like Kobe today. In the future though, I expect LeBron to be the best player in the league. (And I agree, Gilbert Arenas is unjustly underrated and deserves to finish no worse than 3rd in the MVP race.)

What the Hell No one mention D-Wade
The Best player of the 2003 Draft class that included lebron, carmelo and chris bosh
The Nba Finals MVP killin dallas by himself.
The Same D.WADE Who was killin teams in the world championships.
The D.WADE who is Averaging 29 points 8 assists and 6 rebounds to go with 2 steals a game.
The D. WADE who has a Championship ring and these other guys u mention don't.
The D. WADE who is carrying the heat this season. look at their roster it pitful. not a single impact player or even a guy who would start for another team.
The D.WADE who has been without SHAQ all year and has a pitful lineup yet still wins games.
Put any other player in the heat lineup without shaq and see how many games they would win.
Steve nash with the heat without it shaq would be pitful nash has 2 all-stars playing with him. Marion, amare
Gibert Arenas has caron butler and antwan jaminson
Who does wade have on his team mourning and jason williams GIVE ME A BREAK!!
Even kobe has young talent around him in odom, brown
Miami is a bunch of aging veteran guys that rode wade to the title
Nobody does what Wade does for the Heat no one that is why he is the BEST PLAYER IN THE NBA.
And when the HEAT REPEAT Ya'll will see that

Steve Nash is the best player in the league hands down. He is running the Suns. If he was injured do you think the Suns would be winning all these games. This guy has the highest basketball IQ he passes all day until the defense leaves him alone then he buries the jumper. He keeps running under rim all the time and the moment when the defense thinks his going to run under the rim and pass he goes for the lay-up. Plus his passes its like he has eyes in the back of his head. He should get MVP again.

So far, I think it's either Gilbert Arenas or Steve Nash. I think it's obvious why Arenas--he's hit, what, 3 or 4 game-winning shots, he's leading his team, and he's averaging somewhere in the high 20's in points. And Nash is averaging a double-double, also leading his team, and is plain out a really good team overall player.

Right now, I'm hands down to Steve Nash. The guy is just doing almost everything to contribute for the win. Whether it's looking for the open man and dishing out the ball or scoring crucial baskets he does it so damn well. He just makes things happen.
