i tried videora converter and jodix but they both turned out garbled videos

You can go on google and search for free convertion tools online. There are some websites that can convert any types of files to the ones you want. I am sorry for not providing the link because I can not remember them right now. Good luck

Use quicktime and then look for a serial number, so you can upgrade it to Quicktime Pro! It's the best converter! it formats actually to .m4v the iPod format.
