I'm thinking about getting an Ipod Nano, but i was wondering if you can only download songs from Itunes onto the Ipod and not from other programs. I'm not planning on spending a dollar per song to put on my ipod. So can you use other free programs like limewire or mp3rocket to put songs on your ipod? Thanks

You have to have itunes to put songs on your ipod, but you don't have to get the songs from itunes. I use limewire myself. You just have to transfer the files over to itunes before you can put them on your ipod.

Yes. You must use itunes to put songs on your ipod. You can import songs from cds you have or use a free program in which case the songs would also have to be imported as a file. I wouldn't be surprised if itunes has circumvented this with ipod updates, since they are a monopoly (itunes is all you can use to put stuff on your ipod). Good luck. I also think paying 1.00 for a song is kind of a rip, but better than 18.00 for a whole cd that has only 1 good song on it.
