One of my favourites is the ear wax polymorphism. Small differences in genes account for the differences between all of us. A single letter change in the genetic code for a gene called ABCC1 causes the difference between dry earwax (as found in people of far-eastern origin such as Japanese) and wet earwax (in people of European origin or African origin). It's the first discovered example of a single letter genetic change affecting a simple visible (if you look down ears anyway) human characteristic.

Other interesting health facts people may not know - the average office desk contains more germs than the average toilet seat.

Acne is caused by bacteria but is related directly to hormonal changes. It is completely unrelated to cleanliness of skin and washing, however well, makes absolutely no difference to it.
