it was once told a story about a man who went to africa on a safari. he said there was a place that you could put in a quarter in a machine and get a hand full of food that you can give to the baboons that hung around there. the problem was that the baboons stopped going back into the wild to find their own food and just stayed there for the free hand out. on top of that the baboons were having babbies that never learned how to go out into the wild and find their own food. it was generation after generation that now had no idea how to survive on their own. now if i compare this to welfare that now makes me a racist why? is it not true if you give a man a fish you feed him for a day but teach him to fish you feed him for a life time?

No, if you teach a man to fish he fishes for a while, until the biggest fisherman start buying each other out and pretty soon the regular guy who you just taught to fish can't compete with the corporate fisherman so he loses his house and his boat and his wife leaves him and he ends up having to get a lousy minimum wage job at WalMart until he dies early of cancer with no health insurance. And how much of your own food do you raise yourself? Any? A few tomato plants in the summer? Maybe if they had supermarkets in Africa they wouldn't have to worry about having to grow their own food. Being a farmer is a TOUGH job, with deer, racoons and other vermin constantly trying to eat your garden. As for welfare, it's only a temporary situation. What about corporate welfare? That is out there too.
