A "Guitar Hero" party!

We did this for my daughters birthday. Man did it rock. It was a total hit. The age group was 18, 20, 21, 24 & 48. A mix of 5 guys and 4 gals that played. Every one else enjoyed sitting around for the concert. It is a great game for all ages, my 71 year old mom loves to play it. You don't even have to play it to have fun and or you
don't even have to be good at it to have fun... just watching the concert they give is just as fun if not more fun! And, you don't even need to know how to play a real guitar.

Guitar Hero is the best game ever. It consists of 2 guitar players at a time, who rotate, winner stays and plays the next in line. They pick a song and play it as the colors come down on the TV screen. These are not real guitars they are shaped like a guitar but have 5 colored push buttons on the neck instead of strings, and it has a white piece that you hit to make it strum, and a whamy bar. Lots of great songs to choose from and it goes from easy, medium, hard, to expert. You can play it alone as one player or with 2 players. Both can play lead guitar, or one can be lead guitar and the other can play bass guitar. Many choices. Later after the party you can play to earn money points to go to their shopping mall (in the game) and buy your favorite charactors new outfits, new guitars, new songs and can even earn awesome equipment for your concert stage. When you are playing your guitar, there is a band that plays along with you and a singer who sings as you play. You really feel like you are playing the song and it feels so awesome!

Need: a television, a Play Station 2, Guitar Hero I & or II, a memory card, and two Guitar Hero guitars. (with cords that plug in/cordless
which will need 4 AA batteries each guitar) Cost: $300-$350 if you have to buy everything new. You can buy this at Target/Target online,
or through a local Game Store. You can also buy it for way less at a Game Store if you buy it all used.

Well, chances are there will be more than just men there, correct? What are his interests? Is he in to fishing, bowling, pool, kareoke, grilling, tools, weightlifting, what? I would build a theme around his interests. Or, if you don't this person well enough to know that much about them--like if through work or whatever- then something simple would do like a luau, toga party, wine testing, etc.
A party must have balloons, food, and fun. How you put the three togather is according to what you know about the guy. Good luck!

I think a beer theme would be hugely successful, unless the male in question is an appletini drinker, then whatever, you're on your own there, buddy.
