I looked under UserData > Storytelling, and I see a bunch of screenshots that I definitely didn't take, and I guess are there by default. But where are MINE? Do I have to save them as a story or something?

Did you check it this way?
make sure the Documents you search in , is your account's My Documents
My Documents > My Games > The Sims 2 > should be somewhere in here

C --> My Documents --> EA Games --> The Sims 2 --> Storytelling

if u take a screenshot during a game, if the game is on your cd drive which it should be. then go to my computer/c drive/program files/ find your sims 2 folder and in there somewhere it should have created a screenshots folder, look around in there for them.
