The Academy of Art University, in California? That school I do know. I am not familiar with U Houston Victoria.

AAU is a strong art school which is unique, in that it's a very reputable art school whose graduates are well respected in art-related industries and by grad schools, and yet it has open admissions. You don't need to have a portfolio in order to apply - simply an interest in and a desire to do art.

They offer some highly competitive majors which do well placing students with employers. Those in animation and auto design are especially strong.

They have a fairly large foreign student population. Their 'campus' isn't a traditional-looking college campus, because it's right in downtown San Francisco. They offer excellent facilities - modern computers, well maintained buildings, etc.

Their tuition is not cheap. But again, it's a strong art school.

If art is your passion, then AAU may be a good choice.
