The chances of winning men's singles is better compare to women whom at one time dominating throughout the 90's. It is sad to see no US player came close to winning a slam since Roddick in US open few years back.

As much as I'd like to see either Roddick or Blake take the finals from R-Fed, I really don't think it's possible. I know Roddick recently beat Federer but that was an exhibition match and doesn't even count toward Federer's insane winning streak.

If you've watched, you'll note that Federer hasn't been playing all that much over the last month or so and he comes into the Aussie Open refreshed, strong and just amazing to watch.

I think all tennis fans should be grateful to be witnessing Federer's play. He is nearly perfect and I have no doubt that he will come very close to winning all four slams this year.

Despite the quality of Roddick and Blake, Federer raises his game to an entirely inhuman level once he gets to the quarters in any slam.

As far as no US player coming close to a slam since Roddick in '03 . . . Agassi was in the '05 US Open final against Federer and took him to 4 sets.

On the womens side, I think Serena has a pretty good chance of getting to the finals, but I don't think she could beat either Mauresmo or Sharapova.

Actually Serena Williams won the Australian Open-2005 and Venus Williams won the Wimbledon Championships-2005. This was after Andy Roddick won the US Open in 2003. Both Serena and Venus beat Lindsay Davenport, another American, in the final to win the respective grand slams. So, there was actually a lot of activity among American women in 2005. However, from 2006 onwards, they have sort of been blown away to nothingness.

Like the last guy said there has been others after him. Roddick and Blake are gonna give us a big chance this year. Andy is my pick to upset fed. Im hoping on an all american mens final. On the womens side the williams sisters have lost some of their swagger but continue to prove that they still have it. and not to worry there are some fantastic americans rising in the juniors.

oudin - had a really great run at wimbledon this year. Especially the victory over jankovic. Madison - She is 14! Lots of time for improvement and she already won her first match. The rest- Will be pretty good but maybe not as great as theese two. In the next 5-10 years we will find out the future of these stars!

well there are high chances of an american getting to the finals with both roddick and blake in terrific form.but, as is most likely to be,federer is definitely going to be in the finals and we have seen time and again how at the main stage it is federer who wins.also roddick is in the same half of the draw as federer and if they advance they will meet before the finals.but with blake being in the other half of the draw and in terrific form i think he may even reach the finals.
