First off, you need to make sure that the movie HAS subtitles before you play it. I don't know if there is a separate part of a file that deals with subtitles, but in my experience, if there aren't subtitles originally being displayed, then there is no way to make subtitles short of going on a movie editing program and making them yourself.

Download BS player...this is what I use when I have subtitles separate from my video and want to load them with video to watch .

If Video comes with subs but you cannot find them...download Zoomplayer (choose ZoomPlayer Standard) ...install...then with player open...right click...bottom right hand corner you will see "Stream Selection"...bring cursor on top of word and you will see instructions to 'hide subtitles' or 'show subtitles'...
