There are lots of Christian countries that are poor and third world. Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, Belize, Bolivia and Panama to name a few.
There are also lots of countries that are non-christian that are very rich. The richest non-christian country in the world is Qatar, a mainly Muslim country. Qatar has a higher per capita income than Australia, Japan, Belgium, Finland, Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Sweden, France and Italy.
The United Arab Emirates has a higher per capita income than Taiwan, New Zealand, Spain, Israel and South Korea. Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have a higher per capita than most of the former Soviet States, including Russia.

The bottom line, some christian countries are rich some are poor. Some non-christian countries are rich and others are poor.

Maybe something other than religion leads to riches. Perhaps luck or hard work.
Both statements in the question are generalisations and are not always correct.
Japan is rich
Saudi Arabia is rich.
Kuwait is rich
Brunei is rich
Singapore is rich
Taiwan is rich
All non-Christian
Ethiopia is poor
Malta is poor
Rumania is poor
Mexico is poor
All Christian
And of course India and China are rapidly becoming rich.
My apologies go to those rich people in poor countries and to those poor people in rich countries. All generalisations are generally incorrect in some particular cases. ;-)

That's not true. A lot of mostly Christian countries are poor and many mostly Muslim countries are rich. Look at the Arabian Peninsula. Those counties are filthy rich and very affluent. Dubai is probably one of the richest countries in the world.

It is correct. But we Americans and other 'Christian' countries were not chained up by religion. It didn't restrain us in the past and helped us progress and improve our living conditions, health, science, education, production facilities and output, and everything else one would hope can be made better, easier, faster, safer, and so on. And we don't want your land or need your oil like you might have been made to think. At one time, the Muslim world was the leader in science and progressive thinking. What happened to stop all of that? Sharia?

No, your observation is incorrect (unless you don't consider catholics christian) Some of the most impoverished countries in the world are latinoamerican countries like Bolivia and Paraguay where the religion is predominatly catholic. Saudi Arabia, for example, is a muslim country that's extremely rich. Japan, not a christian country is also one of the rich and developed countries of the world.
Have you heard the biblical quote (paraphrasing) "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven?"

First off, most every South American country is predominantly Christian...in higher percentages than the US and Europe, in certain cases. And most of them are very poor.
Most Islamic countries have been independent only since the end of WWII...and they had been heavily colonized by European countries (and "colonized" really means "conquered and occupied"). So when they got their independence, the first thing most of them did was REJECT every Western influence...even the things that might actually HELP their countries. (Think about it...by forcing women into second-class status, and not letting them DO anything...have jobs, drive, vote, etc....you are wasting half of your resources.) And when Israel was founded and recognized by the West, that turned most Islamic countries further away from what could have been civilizing influences. Plus, it pissed 'em off and made them devote their TREMENDOUS resources...especially oil wealth....to weapons and warfare. (Think about it...even today they're sending their own children out to blow themselves up. So that means they HATE Israel more than they LOVE their own children.)
Other non-Christian countries such as India and China are doing quite well. Some...North Korea immediately springs to mind...are wretchedly poor.

Yikes never seen some of the nasty places on Earth that are Christian dominated such as Rwanda? Haiti? Nicaragua? Estonia? All are predominately Christan nations and also rank at the bottom in many areas.

Yeah, there are all those rich countries in Central American. It's a good thing they aren't Islamic like the Saudis or they'd be poor.
Both Islam and Christianity have warnings against greed.
