I heard you could have years of undigested stuff in your colon that sticks to the walls and prevents you from absorbing nutrients in the foods you eat now.

Hi Mae

THe answers on this website really show how ignorant we are in cleaning the toxins out of the body. The average american has one bowel movement every 2 days and almost everywhere else in the world is 30 minutes after eating! If toxins are sitting in the colon where are they suppose to go if you dont have regular movements ? They get in the blood and that is main reason we get illness and disease. We Americans eat so much food that is processed and has all types of chemicals in them. It's no wonder we lead the world in the most types of diseases known.

To answer your question; the process is to get herbs (or colonics) that help give a person regular bowel movements and cleans out the colon. You can do this effectively with a 5-10 day cleanse by eating organic fruits and vegetables (better yet juicing them) and using herbs to help clear the toxins. (herbdoc.com has a good program)

Who makes money if we are all ignorant and have health issues (drug companies of course)? If we educate everyone to have 4-5 colon cleanses a year our nation would have most of our freedom back. Health freedom anyway.

Best of health to you

hmmm i've just been looking into his as well, and i think there is something to it. I'm a heallthy active individual, with great regularity, but still feel i am not absorbing all my nutrients, experience moments of discomfort and sufffer headaches quite oftem, and a little recurring acne when all my life i had clear skin.. it has been suggested to do a cleanse, and i always assured the practitioner that i was more than regular.. my diet is very high in fibre and very little processed foods.. but i now feel that the herbal cleanses Are the way to go.. NOT with laxatives and NOT colon irrigation/enemas though-these are too invasive, and not a TRUE balanced cleanse, from what i have researched. there are web sites you most likely have researched... i say an herbal cleanse with bentonite clay or psyllium will be what i am going to attempt....

this site was pretty.. well- 'descriptive' http://www.drnatura.com/

Stanley Burroughs has a booklet called "The Master Cleanser" it's about $6.50. It has the "Lemonade Diet" and the Salt Water Cleanse. I've had terrific results with this for bowel cleansing. Totally inexpensive and natural and does NOT require enemas, colonics, etc. Get it, read it and decide.

The "years of undigested stuff" is a bunch of pseudo-scientific quackery, and if you are passing stool regularly you should have no problem. That being said, they do have enemas on sale all the time at the drug store for either 2/$1 or $1 each. I always see them in the ads.

That's what they want you to believe. Most of the colon cleanses are a laxative with a coffee base. What do you eat that can withstand years in a hydrochloric acid bath?

I always post before I read anyone elses post, but I want add this afterward. Bowel movements are not food waste. food always passes as urine. Bowel movements are each cell of your body disposing of it's waste products. The only food in it is the fiber which keeps peristalsis (movement) in the colon active.

Hi Mae,

I agree with Alt Healer. There are many enemas you can buy. There is a Lemon juice cleansing enema. All you need is 3 lemons and 2 quarts of distilled water. If you can get organic lemons all the better. Use lukewarm water. If you want to detox your liver then try a coffee enema. Prescription for Nutritional Healing by James F. Balch has info on enemas, and other forms of cleansing. Infra-Red Sauna is great for detox.

I don't know where you heard that, but it is untrue. Colonic cleansing isn't necessary and actually renders you some harm There are natural bacteriae in the colon that keeps things in balance...Wash them away and you might get a nasty case of Giardia. It is a most uncomfortable situation and your colon might learn to depend on you doing that for a normal bowel movement to happen.

a bottle of magnesium citrate should do the job....often times recommended to someone before surgery if they prefer not to have an enema.....a bottle goes for around one dollar at the drug store!!! Hope this helps!!!

i know the cheapest way(and you'll applaud me for this), if you got a toilet plunger or a broom handle...it's sure to clean your colon but not your wallet.
