I have found that I am getting more and more sick of the media. Does anyone here think what Isaiah Washington from Grey's Anatomy did anything wrong? First off, here is the story. Isaiah and Patrick fought over a scene they disagreed with. NOT about Isaiah calling T.R. a F@ggot. He called T.R. a name after the scuffle when T.R. tried to intervene. Whether it was f@ggot or c0ck sucker that is up for debate. The main point is, with a country that allows the KKK to run around stating racial slurs and threats, why is it wrong for someone to say "f@ggot" out of anger? Or even as a joke? We allow racism and their hatred reign, but god forgive you say queer. Where are our morals as a country? Why is it okay for homosexuals to display their act, but it is not okay for straight people dislike or speak their minds about it? Where is the logic? I would love input on this.

Interesting that people are saying they do not want straight people to display their acts. Since procreation takes a person from the opposite sex, There is no merit or argument that straight people displaying affection is wrong. Logically it is correct. Logic plays a huge factor in here people. Also, yes I do know what happened with Isaiah and T.R., thirdly, do not act as if you know anyones life. Fourthly, it was in the news when it first broke. It was about a scene, not T.R. sexual preference. What act am I talking about? Why am I watching? I was watching Cheaper by the Dozen with my wife and daughter on TBS and guess what commercial came on? The L word. A lesbian commercial showing women kissing and in bed while a family movie was on. It is thrown in my face, I do not want this crap on tv....and sure as hell do not want my kids watching this. It is MY choice to watch what I want, do not throw it in my face. I wouldn't want her watching a guy and girl in bed so why lesbians? MORALS!?

The conservative element has allowed the rude, ignorant liberals to decide what can and cannot be said or done. It's past time that the moral element of America stand up for what is right and stop some of this public show of all that is tacky, ugly, and sinful. It's NOT okay for the homosexuals to flaunt their sins so why do we let them? It's not okay that the KKK can run lose so why do we let them? It's not okay that our boys run around with their underwear hanging out because their pants are falling off, so why do we let them? I am sick of the filth that is on TV, in the movies, and on our public streets. But GOD FORBID we should take away their freedom to display their ignorance. How long are we going to pitter-patter around before somebody gets the nerve to shout ENOUGH ALREADY! SHAPE UP OR STAY INSIDE WITH THE DRAPES DRAWN!

I don't think you can really come on here and tell us exactly what happened between the actors on Grey's Anatomy. Unless of course you were there. Isaiah Washington apologized, and admit that he did say something he shouldn't have. I don't know if that was what the original fight was over, but he did make a comment that was not looked favorably upon by many people at the Golden Globes. What is the difference between a derogatory comment directed at a black person, native american, homosexual, etc? They are all statements made in hate and do nothing but harm others. No person should have to deal with such a statement made in their direction, but we do have free speech in this country (thank god) so people will say what they will say. It's not the government that is mad at Isaiah Washington, it is the public. Just like they were mad at Michael Richards and Mel Gibson for their comments. You know what I find to be disheartening? The fact that you wrote this question, without really using any derogatory comments toward the homosexual community yourself, but the fact that you think it's ok to happen, and we have no right as a community to try to stop it is almost worse than if you came on here and called us every name in the book. It's perfectly fine for anyone in the world to disagree with homosexuality. That is their choice. However, when it is done in a mean spirited hurtful way that is when people will take issue. Is it really so much to ask to be able to join the military, or marry your loved one (not necessarily through the church, but through the government). I bet 40 or 50 years ago you would have been one of the people to march around with your white hood on burning crosses on the yards of black people, but hey, I bet you would have been fine with Italians or the Irish at that point, right? Can you not see the parallel? It's a new battle with a new minority and people like you are the ones who will prolong it with your antiquated, hurtful, small minded way of thinking.

Well, hate speech is not protected, not in the KKK or anywhere and that's what it is when someone says "f@ggot," it's like using the "N" word. It is a word that is intended to anger people and hurt them:

In 1942, the Supreme Court sustained the conviction of a Jehovah's witness who addressed a police officer as a "God dammed racketeer" and "a damned facist" (Chaplinksy v. New Hampshire). The Court's opinion in the case stated that there was a category of face-to-face epithets, or "fighting words," that was wholly outside of the protection of the First Amendment: those words "which by their very utterance inflict injury" and which "are no essential part of any exposition of ideas."

His Slur is not any different than the Michael Richards incident except for one thing. Apologist like you who fly to his defense aren't ashamed of what Isaiah said at all. THAT is what is truly wrong with the situation. If you do not have enough honor, dignity and respect for others to avoid saying intentionally inflammatory slurs then you have absolutely no right to complain when someone takes you to task for such hostile, unacceptable behavior.

There's a huge difference between legal rights, and social condoning. The KKK has a legal right to say whatever they want. As does whoever his name is from whatever stupid doctor show. Neither one are particularly socially condoned, because more and more people are realizing that gay people are people too. Are they both "wrong"? I happen to think so, but that's beside the point.

As for homosexuals "displaying their act", dude didn't come out until someone called him fag in his workplace. He was far from "displaying" anything. Furthermore, most gay people I know don't "display" anything more than their straight counterparts. When straight people stop shoving their sexualities in our faces, we'll return the favor.

convinced because even as you sense high-quality the alcohol has slowed your reaction time. So even as your force may be high-quality and uneventful, if there is an incident, say a small newborn runs onto the line, your reaction cases have slowed so as that perchance you dont see him in time or hit the brake a touch bit too previous due and value the newborn his existence. somewhat i in my opinion believe there should be a no alcohol in any respect regulation, no limits, a one hundred% sober in common words regulation.

Anti-LGBT hate speech has been proved to incite anti-LGBT violence. The Constitution does not cover hate speech, which is spoken to intentionally defame and harm others. So yes, it is MORALLY WRONG to make such statements that lead to violence.

If you hold such ignorant bigoted opinions, keep them to yourself and you have nothing to worry about. That's a lot better than poisoning other decent people around you with your hatreds.

We do not accept racism; we tolerate it. However, do you see any sane person with favorable opinions of the KKK? That's how we look at homophobes, because they think the same. Your opinion is also that gays are ok to flaunt but homophobes aren't respected for hating our personalities. Jeez, I wonder why; maybe because they don't look beyond the personality to see the competence and kindness of most gays and simply assume whatever the hell you guys assume of us that's so bad; I'm still not sure what it is.

it's not ok for the kkk to do it and it's not ok for people in general. how would you as a straight person like to be called a bigoted @sshole on a daily basis for the mere reason you are straight? as a joke or otherwise, it is harmful to other people's feelings. if someone has to resort to name calling to win an argument, that just shows weakness of character, anger can be expressed in a more intelligent and safe way. ....and just how are homosexual people "displaying their act"? is someone f*cking in front of you? please don't confuse existence with actions. you are entitled to your opinions, but you have to take responsibility when you use them to hurt other people-- on purpose or not.

as for your added details on not wanting your daughter being exposed to sexual acts, maybe you should take up your complaints with the programmers (the ones responsible) instead of the lgbt community at large for just being who they are.

Yes, I do think that it was wrong that Washington said that to T. R. And since you asked at least two questions, I'll speak to the latter by saying that it is okay for anyone to speak his or her mind as long as we still have freedom of speech. What scares me, the most, is when that freedom is taken away--bit by bit--as seems to be happening.
