Apple rushed the announcement of its new iPhone, and just today LG Communications revealed that it is releasing a touch phone with Prada. Is the Apple iPhone really unique, or just hype?

Hype. They are too little too late. There are smart phones currently out with multiple carriers and more functionality for 1/3 of the cost.
Apple is just too late and too expensive to be popular on an iPod scale.

Yeah i think iphone is gonna rock as ipods did, Apple is launching ths new product in the market which has gt an ipod and a mobile phone both and is slimmer than motorrolla razr, i m sure its gonna b a worth buy, wait n enjoyyyyyyyy ths sleek iphone with cool music playing on the go :):)

Hype. Apple has been so popular and their iphone had been expected everywhere. I guess they can still win over the market though. The price might be a bit more expensive for users who spend less than us150 for mobile phones, but it's something unique. Just wait for iphone2, they plan to implement 3G tech into iphone2 (iphone doesnt support 3G tho).

Rushed? What the heck are you talking about!!! They have been waiting to make a phone for over 5 years. What part of that is rushed?
I think the phone will succeed. I don't think everybody will have one but it will succeed in the smart phone market.
