Typically, 4 years of undergrad and 4 years of dental.

You can look into 6 year programs out of high school, where you just do 2 years undergrad and then the 4 in dental school.

If you really want to push it, some schools like the University of the Pacific make their dental (and pharmacy) schools year round, so you finish in 3 years instead of the usual 4.

4 years of undergraduate study that doesn't necessarily have to be science related, as long as you take the required classes to get into dental school plus another 4 years of dental school, giving you a grand total of 8 years. Thats how my friend is going through it. She got a degree in psychology while keeping up with the science related classes and is now in dental school.

Eight years after high school, on average. You need a science degree then a dentistry degree, each take about 4 years to complete.

How ever long it takes you to complete all of the classes. Depends how much time you put into it. And how eager you are to complete it.
good luck.
