One, few things are forever!
If you are both teens, you have no idea what the future holds. I never give up on a friendship just becuase of distance. Half my friendships are with people that I have not physically been around in as long as six years.
Write them through snail mail or E-mail. Use your own money to purchase for her and you a long distance phone card. Costco and Sam's club offer good deals on these, but other stores now carry reasonable deals on them as well. Make sure if you purchase one, that the PIN number isn't already showing, or someone can use that number to steel your minutes. Having your own phone cards to call each other without costing your parents anything will help you keep in touch and your parents will appreciate you for being responsible and not making long distance calls at their cost.
If you really care, if she really cares, you do not just give up on a friendship because of distance.

It sounds to me as if you're heartbroken, as you would be if a girl that you're in love with had purposely moved away in order to break it off with you. If she is too young or too broke to be on her own, then she had no choice. If she is a friend and not a romantic interest, friendship needn't die. We've moved around a lot and my sons and I all stay in touch with our friends by phone and e-mail. It is painful at first, but as you get used to your new reality of not having that person physically in your everyday life , it gets easier. We plan vacations at the same time and place and we also fly to stay in the area, at our friends' homes to visit and do the fun things that we always enjoyed when we lived there and they come out to our new location to stay with us. We have even flown our sons' friends out here to Florida from California for a visit and our older son has flown back to where we lived on his own to visit. It's easier than ever now to stay in touch with a friend or more than friend. E-mail, text and the painful phone, which won't remain painful, I promise are all relatively inexpensive. All the best going forward.

I really don't think this leaves you in the friend zone forever and it was the right thing to do considering she was not initially attracted to you. Unfortunately, if you really like this girl you should be ready to spend a loooong time in this just-friends place.

you should think more positive, never say never. I mean who knows what may happen in the future.
perhaps she will go back to CA for school or a job. People move all the time, my cousins moved to florida (Im in MI) and they come up every once in awhile and visit and one is even moving back up here for school.
I wouldn't give up keep your head high :)

Hey, you can always save some money and visit her.Or, maybe she will be back to visit her friends. Stay in touch with her and keep her as a friend and maybe you two can get together in the future.

Why can't you still be friends? Just because she is moving with all the technology out there you can still communicate regularly. Sure maybe no love connection but then it wasn't meant to be.
