I don't even need these college credits because The culinary institute of american doesn't require prerequisites..i'm only taking AP classes because i know i can do them and i would be bored to death in regular classes....what do you think?

In my school, the AP tests weren't mandatory and only to be taken if you wanted to get college credit for them. Talk to a counselor and see if you can get out of them. Explain your situation and you may get exempted from them. No, it isn't fair to force you to take the AP tests if you only took AP classes for the challenge and not college credit.

It seems like a lot at the time, but in the long run, you save so much. $83 is nothing compared to how much you'd pay for a college course. (Because as I'm sure you know, passing an AP exam means college credit) And if you're struggling financially, there should be some sort of aid for you if you explain it. We had it at my school, and I think you had to talk to a counselor, or the staff member in charge of the college advising type stuff.

Public schools do that too. Some of my friends take AP classes in public school where the AP exam is 20% of their grade. I see no problem with it, and if you're paying tuition for a private school, $83 for an AP exam really isn't that much.

Yeah, it's fair... you didn't have to take the class. If you need help paying for it, I am sure that the school could help you out of let you pay over time. If you do not need help, such is life; the test is what lets you get out of those classes in university.

Yes because you will learn much more by taking the test.

You will learn how to take the test.

Believe this, everything you learn is stored somewhere in your brain. Some day, somewhere you will reach for an idea, and then your experience and education will serve you in ways you can't even imagine.

GOD bless us, always.

Ask yourself: what's the worst thing that can happen if you refuse to pay or take the tests? If you can accept the consequences, then by all means refuse, if you fully believe you are doing the right thing.

How can they force you to? Are they going to kick you out of school if you don't take them? I really doubt they're that strict.
