It's a just a matter of derivation of formula and then substitution of the given values
T
O SOLVE FOR THE RADIUS:

step 1.) from the general circle circumference formula, derive the formula wherein radius is the unknown

circumference = 2(pi) radius
or
c = 2(pi)( r )
(1/2pi)c = 2pi(r)(1/2pi) multiply both sides of fthe equation by1/2pi to single
out r
c/2pi = r

step2.) substitute the given circum (43.96)and the value of pi(3.14)

43.96/2(3.14) =r
43.96/6.28 = r
7 = r
r = 7 units by symmetry

TO SOLVE FOR THE AREA

Since you now have the radius, you are now ready to solve for the area of the circle

Step 1.) substitute the calculated value of the radius(7) and the value of pi(3.14) to the formula for solving the area of a circle

Area (A) = pi(r^2)
A = 3.14(7^2)
A = 3.14(49)
A =153.86 sq.units

Find the radius:

The equation for circumference is
c=2*pi*r

So using algebra you can solve for r (the radius) because you know c and pi.

Then use the equation for the area of a circle to find the area.
A = pi * r(squared)

You are cheating, but always remember a string, a pencil, and a measuring tape will do it eveytime! If we tell you anymore, what will you do when you do not have access to a computer?

c = circumference
r = radius

c=2(pi)r

43.96=2(pi)r

43.96=6.28r

radius = 7

a = area

a=(pi)r^2

a=(pi)7^2

area = 153.86
