No. If the Pope had said something, the situation would have been very different. He would have had the whole Catholic world rallied around his words, and they would have been in an uproar. Something would have been done much sooner.

I beleive that the Church could have done more to speak out about the atrocities. It was a very very dark time for the Church. A lot of Cathloics feel deep shame and embarrassment over that time period. Could it be that most of the officers commiting those atrocities were Catholics themselves? I believe that had something to do with the Pope doing virtually nothing. To answer your question, he should have spoken up and did more to raise the issue.

No. As the powerful head of the biggest religious institution in the world he should have intervened to save the victims of Holocaust. It was unfortunate that he maintained neutrality.

i believe the catholic church is more worldly than spiritual. many politicians did not talk about the holocaust for a long time, until it was too late. any single one of them was wrong to do so. but a person who supposedly is god's speaker on earth should be held even more responsible.
