I know there has to be something, I'm seventeen and working on an awesome novel that I plan to finish, but when I do finish, how do I get it noticed?

You write a story that says "life is like that!" Then you shop it to publishers or most often to agents who then shop it for you. But you actually have to have a story that is good to read. This is the second post I've seen of yours asking about information that should be far off in the future. Instead, focus on learning how to tell a story. Then when you're in your second or third draft, think about getting an agent.

publish some chapters in student magazines/journals. If they're really awesome, the editor will grab them, if awful, no problem, try another journal.

Submit your manuscript to publishers until one accepts it and offers to publish.
