Yea, he will make a difference. It might not be substantial or anything, but I think he'll definitely boost sales and hopefully boost the sports popularity in the US.

Many people think Beckham will do nothing for the MLS, But I think they are very wrong. First of all it will bring up MLS in America and more people will start watching it. Football is the biggest and most viewed sport in the whole world and people who think football is boring is just a very little percentage compared to the whole world.

Beckham is still a very good player, he crosses and freekick is still vey good. Altough you see him play less in Real Madrid because Real Madrid is one of the biggest clubs in the world and they have all world renoun players and so it is very hard to compete for a starting position. And also realistically the spanish league is much more competitive that the American league by far.

Real Madrid made alot of Money from Beckham due to shirt sales and calenders and etc. They also made a percentage on Beckham's advetisements and sponsors. I am sure the LA Galaxcy would also make alot of money from him. I personally more pros than cons for beckam moving to LA.

Beckham is being used as a marketing tool to attract more of the current soccer fans to purchase tickets. The MLS is doing everything it can to keep their league afloat in the states.

Beckham is just another temporary soccer rush until the can think up another way to boost ticket sales.

He will not attract more people to the game. He nor soccer will ever be that big in the US.

I'm betting that his wife, Victoria (Posh Spice), will get more press for shopping and waving and smiling at people than Beckham will get for anything he does on the field. As long as the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, and, heck, even NASCAR are around, MLS will always be treated like a redheaded stepchild. It's just not that exciting of a sport to watch. Nothing personal, I just can't get into it like I do MLB and NFL.

The only thing Beckham will do is make the Galaxy go bankrupt. What silly bastard actually believes that he is worth $250 million.

nope. soccer is still boring with a capitol B, and we're not suddenly going to start watching it just because some big name soccer player from europe comes over here to play. remember pele came here to play back in the 70s, wasn't he supposed to be the best soccer player ever? how did that work out? last i checked it didn't make us start watching soccer.
