This is my 3rd baby and I have read that usually you go into labor right away when the baby drops after the first pregnancy, but no labor as of yet. Anyone else ever had this happen? And how long was it before you went into labor?

I'm 37 weeks

I'm 37 weeks This is my first baby i do alot of research so just bear with me .lol. When i was 30 weeks my baby had already dropped. My doctor told me this so i requested to be placed on bed rest in hopes it would by time... Honestly there is no way of telling when your baby is gonna come. This is when they get to decide their birthday and month .lol. also look for all the tell tell signs. The back pain. the change in discharge. your mucus plug. to be honesty i've been having contractions since yesterday and it's not fair cause i'm only 1 centimeter dialated... I guess you just have to wait it out. You can try somethings to start it up like sex, walking, expressing milk. sex and expressing milk are the most effective ways but i wouldn't advise if it's you aren't ready for serious contractions.

you dont go into labor right away, it just means the baby is getting in position to be born, you can drop and it be a couple weeks or more depending how far along you are before labor comes

to be truthful with you i don't even remember dropping in any of my 3 pregnanciess but all i do know is that in my last pregnancie i was so tired that when my due date came and still no baby at 7 o'clock in the morning i walked all that day, labor started right as i laid down and relax for the night on my due date.mind you that my 2 pregnancies before this one,one came 31/2 weeks before due date and the other came 1 week before she was due.

Doesn't really mean much. I had my kids drop weeks before I actually went into labor. Only the baby knows when he/she is ready :)

my second baby dropped and i even dialated 2 cm and never went into labor. It just depends on your body. I finally was induced 2 weeks after my due date. then my third never dropped my cervix never softened and i was induced with her too. the labor is shortened but the going in labor doesnt

My baby dropped like 2 weeks before I had my baby. I dialated at 2 on Monday, and had the baby on a thursday.

Heh. My first came six weeks early. My second (now 4 months) dropped five weeks before due date. I was dilated for three weeks before his due date. He was born two days after the due date... so as with all timetables, there are no absolutes. (But then he was born maybe two hours after labor started so again...)

the infant dropping might want to correctly be a demonstration, yet isn't continuously the case. there are one of those aspects that bypass in to that determination. even as a touch one drops, they have "assumed the area" as a way to communicate to practice for exertions. good success!
