"TIME" Is a human contrivance to relationally measure the passage of events and occurances, the standards on which this is defined is the duration from which the sun sets and rises. This came to be known as a day. An hour came to be a division of 1/24th of a day, and so on.
Time is not tangible. It is not a physical object. You can not touch it or taste it. You can not stretch it or go back to a different time.
Time is ever linear, it "moves" in a forward direction only, it's "flow" is not variable. It only "flows" in so far as we continue to measure it.
Time was a contrivance of man made to serve man. Man has now come to serve time, instead.

Time is an ocean of possibility that we are moving thru, choosing which 'line' to be on each moment; each moment a person's consciousness rotates up thru the surface of the ocean of time and experiences all sensations of the "real" world while his/ her/ its sunconscious has rotated down under the surface of the ocean of time to 'send' off the choices that the person has made and navigate to a world-time where those choices can be experienced as "reality",, then there is a non-time between moments in which that person's consciousness rotates below the surface of the ocean of time, to connect the past chosen lines with the current choice, preserving the illusion of the stability of "reality" while the subconscious is acting in the "real" world above the surface of the ocean of time, invoking the power of the One to make manifest the choices of the conscious mind in a kind of 'backstage' area.....
Time is a dimension of existence that we have very limited access to.....

Excellent question. Surprisingly few people (and no theist I've ever met) have a real grasp of the concept. Just as man invented the yardstick to facilitate the need to describe the relative proximity of objects, he invented the clock to facilitate the need to describe the relative proximity of events. Time is relativistic. It slows down as the device measuring it speeds up. Identical clocks run slower on airplanes than they do on the ground. As a matter of interest, if you could accelerate yourself close enough to the speed of light, time would virtually come to a standstill and you could pretty much live forever.

A relative concept based upon imperical, reocurring events that serve as a marker.
However, if you are 18 and your 36 year old mother travels to Alpha Centuari at about half the speed of light, when she returns from that round trip you will be 38 and she will be 37.

For some people, time is an evil tyrant that won't let them have their lives.
For some people, time is a dictating mystery that they don't really understand.
For me, it's a restriction in this life, but once I die or God takes me home, it's gone.
