I think I spotted a UFO once (a few months ago) but am not really sure "what" I saw.
What I "witnessed" . . . was this set of five lights (in a trianglar form) , flying pretty low and going very slow. There was NO "sound bearing", which you normally hear when an airplane goes over, which further my suspicions.
It was interesting to say the least! I watched it until it disappeared.
I never reported it b/c first off, I wouldn't even know "who to call"! Secondly, I really didn't want to look like some kind of idiot! LOL
I know, I know, THIS "story" probably isn't THE BEST, but I'm sharing, especially since I've never mentioned this to anyone, until NOW! So you people at Yahoo Answers, are the FIRST to know! LOL

I have witnessed:
- A Boeing 727 commercial airliner crash (Eastern Airlines Flight 66, at Kennedy International Airport on June 24, 1975, which also happened to be my 7th birthday! - I developed a lifelong fear of flying as a result of seeing that plane crash)
- the aftermath of the collapse of the World Trade Center (I live 10 miles north of Ground Zero, but I could see the huge ugly grey green smoke cloud from my building, because I live on a hill)
- a man get shot in the stomach (a block from my house in the summer of 1988, during the height of the New York City Crack Wars)
- a pregnant woman go into labor on a crowded rush hour New York City subway train (it was pretty messy - there was this big pool of really nasty fluid on the floor - it was a crowded subway car but everybody moved out of the way. That was on the Uptown A Train in July 1985)
- a woman get run over by a New York City subway train (she was trying to escape from a stick up kid and she tried to leap out of the moving train and onto the platform - she didn't make it - they got most of her off the track before the moved the train out of the station but I got to see her thighbone - with some flesh still on it - on the roadbed. That was on an Uptown R train in February 1986)

Criminal activity?
While eating breakfast one morning, looking out of our West End Vancouver kitchen window, my then pregnant wife and I witnessed someone break into a car and steal a box of video equipment. We called the police. The guy went into the lobby of a nearby apartment building to sort through the loot, and must have called a cab. The taxi & the police arrived around the same time. We watched as the guy was handcuffed. He was thin enough to wiggle out of the cuffs and made a break for it, but was chased down on foot by the cops.
Another time we were walking near our home and we saw someone brazenly breaking into an apartment via the ground level window. We weren't exactly sure what was happening so, after we crossed the street, my wife turned around and looked quizically at him. Shortly afterwards the police showed up and sicced their dog on the guy. As he was being put in the back seat he cursed at my wife, as though she had something to do with his arrest (maybe thought she phoned it in).
We never had to testify in either case.

I witnessed a women getting her gold chain getting ripped off her neck with such force that she was thrown off the pavement and into the road.
I witnessed three men running after another with a HUGE knife and then proceeding to stab him repeatedly, once they were done they took his money and walked away laughing - no one did a thing to help or to stop them.
Actually I could go on, but I'm not in the mood. Anyway it's no big deal, apparently crime is everywhere not just in South Africa.

I was walking on the street when I noticed a bunch of people looking up. A guy was trying to escape the police by climbing out of a fourth-story window. He was hanging on the ledge. Just as I looked up, he let go and landed on the sidewalk. Very disturbing.

A weird car accident- the truck hit some gravel, rolled over 3 times & landed on its side. It was funny when I got to them, because they were o.k. & the guy came climbing out with the freaking cigarette still clenched in his mouth! Can you imagine how tight everything must have been clamped up!!!????

I saw a girl try to run across a highway and get hit by a van traveling over 40 mph. She did not live. It was pretty bad.
