My healthfood store said to start with an omega 3 supplement and then work up to a 3-6-9 if you want to. I've heard that most of us are lacking in omega-3's only, so in my opinion you don't need the 3-6-9. If you do take all three though, they are in the correct proportion anyway, so that you receive more omega-3's.
The flax oil (3) doesn't taste as good as the Udo's 3-6-9. Udo's has a nuttier flavour and is better if you are taking it by the spoonful, in my opinion. I just buy whatever I feel like at the time. Just be sure to start with only the 3 supplement so your body gets used to it before adding others.
Another option is a good fish oil. I take Nutra-sea small fish oil. It tastes like lemons though, so doesn't work as well in your morning shake.
You can also add omega-3's to your diet with flax seeds. I add them to my yogurt, oatmeal, etc. Just make sure you grind them in a coffee grinder or blender first, otherwise you won't get any benefits from them. Hope this helps!

Omega 9 is not an efa, we can make all kinds of it. Omega 6 is essential but plentiful, we get about 25 times more 6 then 3. Omega 3 is an efa and the rarer one. Simply take fish oil and you will be doing great.
