"Own" or "purchase?"

There is no minimum age to "own" a firearm. A father can give his son a shotgun for his 12th birthday and have it be perfectly legal.

To purchase, however, I believe is 21 for handguns and 18 for shotguns and rifles. But I could be wrong....

21 years old to buy a firearm. I have owned one since I was 8 years old. I don't know for sure, but, I would think 18 years old would be a legal age.
