I was playing around with it not really sure what I was doing then I think I changed the volume limt like where you go to settings, volume limit, and it says "select new maximum volume limit" I changed it then it said enter a combination to prevent further changes but it seems to have gotten softer rather than louder. How do I fix it back?

To reset the ipods volume limit, you will have to reinstall the ipods operating system which is very easy. if you have itunes 7 installed, you go to the ipod overview and select Restore, which will reinstall the operating system and erase all of your music. If you do not have your music in itunes, i recommend using iDump to copy all of your music to your computer, and put in itunes so that you can put all of the music back on

Go back into the volume limit screen and scroll the bar all the way to the right (it should be solid blue). When you click the button, and it asks you to set a combination to prevent further changes, it will also have a "Done" option. Select and click that option, and it will give you the full range of volume without being combination-locked. Select the "Set Combination" option instead of "Done" and put in a 4-digit combination (one that you're guaranteed to remember, as there's no easy way to reset it like there is with the screen lock!) to prevent any further changes. Either way, make sure you have scrolled the max volume bar all the way to the right, and don't back out of the process with the Menu button or your change won't stick.

One note, though, is that this will not affect the actual volume on your iPod unless your new max volume is set lower than you had previously adjusted your playback volume. To change playback volume, you'll still need to use the scroll function while playing a song as normal.

first u need to be under the "ipod" menu then there should be a "setting" then to "volume limit" then you can set a new limit on how load u want it to reach (the bar should be blue) then hit the middle pad once u are done and u can set a 4 digit combo so you cant make this mistake again and also so no one else can change it on you good luck
