It seems every day that i hear about someone new being kidnapped, but what is being done to prevent this kinda a stuff from happening again? And why isn't anyone standing up and asking their voice to be heard out loud so the world knows that they want their children back? Are they scared that we might actually listen or what?

For me, I am now picking up from school, my son, and his friend from next door. It is something small, but I can do this, and prevent at least a couple kidnappings. Also, on a few days he is coming home on the bus, I am there, walking my dog at the time, and then I walk down the street while other kids are going to their houses. No one wants to kidnap a kid with adults out and about on the street. I am keeping an eye out also, as a stay at home mom for now...who knows who will see the next "white nissan truck", flying down the street like in MO, and it is the big tip. We all have to look out for our kids.
What should be done, is to really really punish those that do kidnap, to make it more of a deterrent to do to potential kidnappers.
(ps, i know not all can pick up from school, and many wish they could. i feel so lucky in this area for now, and don't take it for granted.)
I wish more people would star this question it may help draw attention also! Every little bit helps!

Parents need to educate their kids about strangers, and not just talking to them once or twice. Remind them regularly, even once they are teenagers. There are bad people out there, but they don't want to create a scene, so make lots of noise if someone is creeping you out.

This is the american way and if it happens alot it becomes old news fast so the media isnt all that concerned with the 'little' cases unless there is a twist.
