I don't like scary movies, books, etc. So I like my villains funny, chewing up the scenery and over the top. Totally not real. Like Alan Rickman playing the Sheriff of Nottingham in "Robin Hood"--I can still see him screaming "I'm going to cut your heart out--with a spoon!" Campy and silly and delicious!

Kiser Sozse(?) from "The Usual Suspects" is the villian that scares villians. So creepy being masked in shadow and rumours.

Mickey & Mallory from "Natural Born Killers" dangerous, unpredictable and violent.

Barron Harkkoen from the Dune books. He lives life to excess and lets nothing come between him and what he wants. Evil and he creates twisted minions to do his bidding.

Michael Myers, Jack the Ripper, Dracula and Marcus Corvinus.

I love them because well... they were all misguided. LOL.

*Michael turned out to be brainwashed by a cult. (See Halloween 6.)

*Jack the Ripper was protecting some very important Officials in England.

*Dracula felt he was betrayed by the church he fought so hard for.

*Marcus Corvinus thought his father was weak and that he could control his brother William. When he couldn't.

I love the villans that are not overly diabolical... The ones that are quiet and calculating are more scary.
My favourite villan is Apocalypse from Xmen Comics, Zod from the Superman II movie.
