I was told sushi is ok even though it's raw fish but the thing with it is since it's raw you run the risk of giving your baby a parasite. Which is very very bad. You can eat any fish as long as it's not a big fish like shark, mackerel, you know fish that eat other fish cause their high in Mercury. Mercury is harmful to a developing baby if it's a high amount in your blood stream. as for the beer and margaritas, Stay away from that!!! That's very bad for a baby whether it's developing or not. It'll ruin their brain because their little bodies can't tolerate it. The alcohol in it will also destroy the developing brain cells. Giving the baby a birth defect of some sort. Sausage pizzas? Girl have at it! It won't hurt the baby but the spicyness of the sausage might give you heart burn if your baby has never had spicy food before. I know all this cause I'm 37 week ( that's 8 months) preg. I eat like a pig and my baby boy is so healthy and i let no question go unanswered at my ob/gyn appointments. It's important that you ask your doctor alot of questions this way you know for sure. I know how you feel about the cravings. Right now i want chocolate and frozen bananas....lol

Pregnant or not, seems like as soon as a human being is told they cannot have something---that's the very thing they want the most!
Try substituting other stuff that might have similar tastes--I used to make a delicious margarita-type blender drink--just no alcohol. There's "alcohol-free-beer", too... I know, not the real stuff... but sometimes we can trick our cravings. Sushi with brown rice, vegetables and seaweed is pretty good-- as is lower calorie cheesy/tomato things--- like broiled eggplant or zucchini with tomato sauce and a sprinkling of Parmesan.
Sometimes cravings are actually due to the nutrients found in the food--- so substitute healthier foods with the same vitamins etc. Sometimes, though, its just the tastes and associations.
Oh well... soon you'll have a wonderful healthy baby and it will all be worth it, I promise you!

Ohhhh yes I longed for ice cold beer, sushi, and MARGARITAS during both of my pregnancies. Are they things you normally like, or out of the blue? I don't eat ice but when I was pregnant with my second child during the summer I would stand at the freezer and eat the smaller pieces of ice. Be glad you don't want to eat clay or mud - there are women known in other countries to have eaten it!

Yes, tuna on crackers with olives and maybe potato chips. And this is wierd, but chamagne which is not something I drink often at all. Good new is my doc says that one drink here and there wont hurt anything. But still the only alcohol I've had sense learning I was prego was one sip of champagne on New Years Eve (By the way an Ice cold bear sounds like it would be dangerous for you and the baby)

yeah it's possible. for me i had horrible morning sickness. i found out around 5weeks day after i was sick about 12 weeks. meanwhile i couldn't eat anything but sushi or sashimi. i do know american doctor says no for sushi or sashimi. but dependse what kind of fish do you eat. if you eat more white fish. not like yellow tuna ,salmon from farm, red snapper. those are the one contains more murcury or other germs for out break.
so if you can eat like sea bass, toro, salmon came from actual ocean, or you can eat other maki roll.
i was eating only sushi and sashimi about 2month, i went to check with dr my baby size is little bigger but not fatter, and no high blood pressures or anything happen to me. i am sure that sausage pizza is high sodium and fat but if you can eat with salad ( mixed green without heavy dressing) should be ok. try to drink alot of water. beer.. well i was one of those person can't leave without beer. before i got pregnant i have to have 2 bottles every night. but now i can't have that much,, but occationally i have one cup (size like pint) with light beer.. not to feel too left out.
i don't think it's hurt. but dr usually they don't want to be responsible for that. so they never tell you how much is ok..
try your best.. you will be fine..
have a healthy pregancy..

I had sushi when I was pregnant and I didn't have any problems. . I didn't know you weren't supposed to eat it until AFTER I had her. . Opps! She was in perfect health.
& Have a beer - alcohol is ok in moderation_ ask any doctor. I did_ I love wine and I had a glass a couple times a week. . it was fine..
Is this your first child?

Cravings are your body's way of telling you it needs something that is in that particular food. For example; If you crave oranges, you need vitamin C.
