Which form is correct???

I want to be part of bringing that happiness into parent's lives.

Or

I want to be part of bringing that happiness into parents' lives.


*I am writing about how my goal is to become an obstetrician (deliver babies).

If you want to make a plural word possessive, the apostrophe must come after the plural 's'. Obviously you a referring to all the parents that you might have to deal with, so, parents' is what you need. In case of doubt, here are a couple of simple examples:

Here is the girl's room. The room of one girl.
Here is the girls' room. The room of a number of girls.

This is the boy's uniform. The uniform of a particular boy.
This is the boys' uniform. The uniform for boys is like this one.

Think of it this way:

Are you talking about only for one parent or all parents?

If it's more than one, the ' comes AFTER the s.
