Outback. If there was one closer I would go more often, I do have an Applebees nearby so I do go there....but if I had my choice......

Restaurants of both chains vary widely in quality. Throwing the bad ones out of the comparison, Outback wins my vote with their house sirloin, the Outback Special.

I know a guy who works on the floor at Walmart. He left his job as "chef" at Applebees to go to Walmart - said it pays better. That gives me a clue about some of the strange dining experiences I've had at Applebees.

I've worked at both places and can tell you without a doubt that the Outback Steakhouse is definetly better than Applebees. The food quality is way better at Outback. I can't even believe you are comparing the two. There is no comparison. Outback makes real mashed potatoes fresh.....everything is made fresh everyday. They make their own dressings/sauces/seasonings. Much better desserts. They have awesome prime rib and filet. Need I say more?

The restaurants? I really don't like either. Outbacks is all about steaks and stuff, which I don't like, and I didn't even like their burgers. Applebee's is American food, but I prefer Fridays. If I had to choose, I'd go for applebees.

I like Applebee's boneless chicken wings. I admit it. They're not healthy. And the really, really, cold beer I order with em isn't good for me either, I guess. It's one of those secret sins I keep all to myself.

But if push comes to shove, and those are the only two restaurants to choose from, I'd take the one that could seat me first. Outback can serve a decent steak if you give em a chance.

I love both but Outback is better IMO. Not only do I like the food better but they serve you bread before your meal(applebees doesnt) and I love Outbacks soup.

I like Outback better--esp the coconut shrimp. Applebees is good once in a while, but Outback is a place you can go for a special occasion and it doesn't feel like skimping.

I would most diffinitely go with Applebee's - because they always have a variety on the ribs(styles), where with Outbacks is more of a steak house & potatoe
