If you are truly stuck, my advice to you is to first calm down and stop thinking "I don't understand this question I've been assigned." It's not a hard question, it just takes some knowledge of the plot turns in the play, and for that you just need to think it through.

when you are calm, I think what will help you is if you go through and make a chart or outline of the events in the play in every scene - not just the big plot points but the minor characters too. Theatre directors sometimes put together something called a "french scene" breakdown which is simply every time someone new either comes on stage or leaves, it's a new scene (not just when it says scene i, scene ii, etc.) If you use that technique, and work your way through the play in little chunks, you'll get clear. What I would do is sit down and for every little chunk write a little note to yourself about what just happened, in your own words, like "margaret and hero discussed what dress she should wear." then when beatrice comes in, draw a line and start in the next chunk with a sentence, like "the 3 women tease each other about who they love." just make it really simple, it'll go fast. Then draw a new line. Then, when you're done, go back to YOUR outline or chart- going to seem much easier than the text - and the hoaxes and deceptions will be jumping out at you because you'll have written them down flat in your sentences since they are all plot points. Then just circle them (and then you'll have really gone through the play and you'll be able to write a great essay.)

Next time you have a question like this, though, post it in "Homework help" and not Books and Authors.
