I'm trying to conceive and i have been reading up on it. Most people think that it's day 14 of your cyle but they are wrong as some women have 28 day cycle some have 32 or even up to 40 days. You ovulate 14 days before your period starts! so you need to count how many days your cycle is (day one being 1st day of your period) then you need to count back 14 days from when your period starts to figure out what day you ovulate. My cycle is usually 30 days so I ovulate on day 16 the best days for me to have sex are days 14, 15 and 16. Have a look on the internet sites so you can calculate your monthly cycle because it is best to start having sex two days before you ovulate and just keep at it for a few days you should forget the old wives tale of too much sex makes the sperm weaker (been told that so by so many people) The more sex you have on those two days the more chance you have. I now am using digital ovulation kit this month to see if i can get it just right x

Have sex three times a week.
Having regular sex is the best way to get pregnant. Couples often try to time everything perfectly for ovulation but do not have sex when they think they are not ovulating. It is true that sex that is not within the time of ovulation will not result in pregnancy. However, because women do not always ovulate when they think they will, having sex three times a week will help to a woman cover her bases, so to speak, and not miss an opportunity to get pregnant.
Have sex before ovulation (not after).
Sometimes couples get confused about the best time to have sex in relationship to ovulation. You have a small window of time each month to get pregnant. After a woman ovulates the egg will survive approximately 24 hours. Sperm, on the other hand, will live for up to three to five days. This is why having sex two to three days before ovulation will increase your chances of getting pregnant. Don’t wait until the day you ovulate to have sex. Your partner’s sperm will last longer than your egg and you don’t want to miss an opportunity by waiting.

This depends on the length of your cycle, my wife is ever 28 days so she is most fertile 14 days after her period but you can get info on this from the net if you go to an ovulation chart, it will tell you your most fertile days or dates depending on the length of your cycle. good luck
