If the divorce has been finalized you're pretty much stuck. You signed a legal agreement at that's it. You CAN go to court and try your chances but I doubt your ex spouse is going to WANT to let you out of the trap YOU put yourself into. Why did your lawyer allow you to do this to yourself in the first place?

Well, in most states there are very specific reasons that are required to be found in order for a divorce judgment to be modified. For example, fraud by one of the parties would be a reason to reopen the original judgment. If there are ongoing payments a modification might be possible under the theory that circumstances have changed since the original judgment and therefore it is no longer equitable for it to be enforced. You need to consult with an experienced family law attorney to find out if in your state you would have any chance at all. You could end up spending more in legal fees than you are having to pay as a result of your guilt!
Good luck.

Divorce decrees could be amended and human beings do it all of the time. They bypass returned to courtroom and ask for alterations besides the undeniable fact that it often concerns the youngsters and new child help. once you're saying you stayed in hiding, does that advise you probably did not see your infants on make a contribution to their maintenance? i think of you have got an somewhat stressful time convincing the decide which you should be presented something of cost from that homestead in case you probably did not pay help.

Most likely not...child support can be adjusted with a change in circumstances (employment etc.), but a divorce decree as far as spousal support usually cant be modified

I would think that would be up to the judge to decide but the decree was a legal document, so I would think it would be highly unlikely. Maybe if you can prove financial hardship?

In my state, (Utah) you can go back to court on child related issues (child support, custody and visition), but once a divorce decree is final, it is unchangable.

Looks like you screwed yourself.
Maybe you shouldn't have done what made you feel guilty.
