just add the numbers 2k+500m+4k= 6.5KM,
actually I was Kidding the right answer is 6.02079 Km
and the angle is 57.29 North East

The total distance that the car travelled towards east is 6 km, and that towards north is 500 m or make it 0.5 km

we can find the displacement here by using the pythagoras theorom...

(Total Displacement)^2 = 6^2 + 0.5^2 = 36.25
Total Dispalcement = 6.02079728939 km

total it travels 6 km eastward and 500m or 0.5 km northwards. total displacement is sqrt (36+0.25)=6.25km. Direction is east tilting towards north by an angle of (90- tan-1 (12)).

or if you want a one-directional displacement 538.52 m south east

add up the east values, then add the south value. Then use vector addition on the two using the distance formula (pythagorean theorem)
