first and foremost conditioning. when your team members have a lot of stamina they won't slack off on defense. they will have more energy and stay focused. more ball ontrol when players are tired they tend to lose control of the ball and feel sluggish. i'd kno. trust me. dribbling nothing fancy jus the fundamentals but if they have that talent then let dribble the way they want croos someone and drive for the basketball or make a big pass. can really change the tempo of the game.

Like what kind of drills? For exercising or for running plays?

well for excercising there are sprints and of course running. Then there is zig-zag or at least thats what I call it. It's where you get down into defensive stance with your palms up and you move back quickly in a zig-zag formation. Like you were guarding someone.

Then for plays: well you could teach the "man-to-man" defense right away and then the "zone" defense. Then:

the pick and roll
etc...etc...

hey. this is a good warm up to use. you have three lines the ball starts in the middle he passes it to either side and then goes behind them and goes to the basket. the person with the ball passes it to the other person and then that person passes it to the person who started in the middle and he then shoots or tries for the layup. you can try to regulate which line they go in after they are done but they often just go to where ever is open. it helps get them warmed up and a good passing practice.make sure they start at half court. good luck
