What is the difference in price? I have bought several brand name watches on line and they still come with a warranty if they are new. Also for about 25 dollars you can purchase an additional warranty. Just be careful of people selling fake watches on line and trying to pass them off as the real thing. Try overstock.com or amazon, they usually have good deals and they don't sell fake watches. Plus if you go to the dealer, you can actually hold the watch in your hand, try it on etc. For a few extra bucks you'll be certain you have the genuine article. Hope this helps.

Most Tags are mechanical watches (meaning no batteries). These mechanical movements need to be worked on every 5 years or so (and a Tag will last you much longer than that) just to make sure it is lubricated, etc. If you get it certified, it'll help you a lot in the long run with the upkeep. I'd recommend buying from a chain store (ie. Bailey Banks and Biddle, Ben Bridge, Tourneau) so that if you move, you will still receive the great service.

When you're planning to spend money on a nice watch, you should make sure to take full advantage of getting the best all around deal you can--meaning a full warranty from an authorized dealer.

If you are going to buy an expensive watch like a Tag Heuer, you NEED to buy it from the dealer and buy the warranty. It is better to buy the warranty and never need it, then not buy it and end up needing it. Also, buy it from the dealer so you know you aren't gettting ripped off and you know it is the real deal. The dealer is not going to overprice the watches, they are going to be a standard rate.

Be very weary of buying online. Tag watches online are often fake. Therefore, the ones you buy online break MORE often than the ones you buy in Tag stores. I'd go for the store-bought watch. The extra money you pay in warranty costs will be less than what you pay when you take your 'online bought' watch to get fixed. Plus most places have financing, or you can put the balance on a credit card to pay next month if you want to get some reward points.

As you know Tag Heuer is widely copied, I bought one in China two years ago for $20 no warranty, but it looked like the real one, up to now it is still working.

If you are paying that much for a watch, go with a certified dealer. The cheaper online versions may well be fake, and it they quit working the day after you get it, your screwed.

Why would you waste your money on a Tag. It is pure trash and you are overpaying for a quartz watch? Buy an Omega or Oris. A quartz watch runs on a battery and chip and anytime you paid more than $100 for one, you got robbed (minus the value of the gold and diamonds, if the watch has any)

Its a fake if you buy it online...most of the high end watches are NOT for sale online like that. Check out their website.
