Im not sure about the break up, maybe differences in direction/creativity + drugs drugs and drugs
Scott Weiland is a good vocalist/ song writer, but not the best
the best is Chris Cornell

i admire Scott greater. B2- I constantly think of of Eddie Vedder when I hear Creed, over Scott, yet yeah, now that i think of of it, he does sing greater in a Scott Weiland variety. BQ2- Pearl Jam- Black or Alive Stone Temple Pilots- Kitchenware and candy Bars

They had two good songs and Scott Weiland is a selfish drug abuser that killed the STP...that's why they broke up & no, he's hardly the best lead singer!!

Scott never could quite kick the heroin habit back in the STP days. That caused a tremendous strain within the group. I agree he is a brilliant artist. I wouldn't call him the best, but very good regardless.

they broke up because they were tired of his drug addiction. Having been in bands where one individual is an addict, it really makes it hard to depend on that person. Sometimes it gets to the point where you don't know 'who' is going to show up at a gig or rehersal (or even if they will at all). Also, incase you didn't know, the other 2 guys in STP are brothers.

Scott was a miserable junkie.
But a brilliant musician and singer. Poor guy.

I think the band got tired of scott's drug abuse.. but he is now with velvet revolver and sounds wicked fronting them.. yes, I agree he has an awesome voice.. he & chris cornell are my fav's
