I am taking antibiotics prescribed by my dentist, and Ive got a yeast infection. I asked him to prescribe it, (cuz it always happens) but...he's a dentist, not a gyno, he didn't know the name.

Ive taken it before and Im starting to show symptoms of *ew* and I want to leave him a message, so he can call it in tomorrow AM and hopefully I can pick it up at lunch and ger rid of it before it really kicks in.

Thanks!!

The trade name (commonly known as) is Diflucan. The generic name is fluconazole. I have used it and it works wonders.

If your doctor is extra nice, he'll also give you some external vulvar cream to help with the burning and itching.

The OTC stuff has always worked for me. I use Monistat 1, and it works great. It's just a vaginal insert and comes with cream to relieve the itching. They have a new AM/PM that can be used any time of the day. Just wear a pad if you try it because it can get messy.
