A line graph is used to show change of two variables.

A line graph is usually used when you are charting change... say, over a period of months. Put the independent variable (months for example) on the bottom, or x-axis. Put the dependent variable (plant growth for example) on the y-axis. Use a line graph instead of a bar graph when the change is more important the individual values.
